In addition to our environmentally-safe and 100% soy-based candles.
we have dedicated our first line in support of awareness for breast cancer, domestic violence, and Cushing's disease.
A Rose Candles is an advocate for many causes that affect the human race.
In additions to the many primarily women who are diagnosed with breast cancer, Aniah has seen many family members and close family friends battle the disease. This includes the passing of the founder of the dance school she has attended since age 3.
Statistics show that every week a woman is killed as a result of domestic violence. Unfortunately, just a few years ago Aniah's cousin lost her life at the hands of her significant other.
A rare disease that affects 10 to 15 people per million each year (70% of them women), Aniah's mom is one of the diagnosed rare cases of Cushing's disease. Beginning when Aniah was about 8-years old she has stood by her mother's side as she battled this disease that has resulted in life-threatening chronic illnesses and two brain surgeries to remove tumors.
Aniah Rose grew her love for candles when she attended a candle making class for youth in March of 2017. The idea to start a business was sparked during that class and A Rose Candles was birthed.
At the start of her 8th-grade year, Aniah was accepted into the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA Philadelphia) where she began to rebrand her business and create a fully executed business plan. At the end of the 10-month program where she spent every Wednesday evening at Cabrini University in a classroom of her peers, Aniah was given the opportunity to present her business plan to a panel of investors. The investors were very impressed with her business plan and she received over the number of investment funds she requested. This amazing opportunity to be a part of YEA is what moved Aniah to change her business model from simply making a profit to "profit with a purpose".
Outside of being an all honors student and her candle business. Aniah spends most of her time fulfilling her passion for dance. She is a student dance teacher and attends multiple dance classes. She is currently training and competing with a professional dance company.
